Canonical Multipass 1.1 Provides Proxy Support, Patches – Phoronix

Multipass is software developed by the manufacturer Ubuntu Canonical which is advertised as “a mini-cloud on your workstation” which provides an Ubuntu command line in “one click” with the support of the native hypervisor.

Multipass is basically an easy way to run Ubuntu virtual machines on Linux / Windows / macOS and similar in nature to Vagrant, but it only focuses on Ubuntu virtual machines. Multipass reached version 1.0 at the end of last year and does the heavy lifting is KVM on Linux, Microsoft Hyper-V on Windows and KyperKit on macOS. VirtualBox support also remains available.

As their first version of 2020 and a month before Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Multipass 1.1 is now available. With this release, support for Apple macOS has been extended to version 10.12, there is now support for network proxies and various bug fixes.

More details on the Multipass and Windows / macOS download links via GitHub. The Linux version of Multipass continues to be served as a Snap.
