Cameron Boyce fans got a glimpse of the actor in his latest film role as the trailer for teen thriller Runt was released.
Boyce died aged 20 in 2019, his cause of death later revealed to be an epileptic seizure.
The actor will play bullied teenager Cal in the new film, as he and his friend Cecily (Nicole Elizabeth Berger) turn to vengeance to settle scores with their bullies.
With no one to turn to, they descend into a downward cycle of misguided violence.
The trailer shows Cal being tormented by bullies after inviting a classmate’s girlfriend to the school dance.
As the bullies continue to pick on him, he grows increasingly desperate.
Boyce was recently seen in the television series Mrs Fletcher and Paradise City.
Last year, the actor’s parents opened up about his death after he established the Cameron Boyce Foundation to raise awareness about epilepsy, as well as continue Cameron’s activism in the drinking water crisis.
Her mother Libby said that although she and her father Victor find ways to “honor” Cameron to celebrate his life, dealing with their grief is “very, very difficult”.
She said, “It’s not something you improve on. is something you learn to live with.
“I feel like I’m in a tunnel. The tunnel will always be there. I’ll never get out of the tunnel. So if people say, ‘You come out the other side’ – you never come out other side of this kind of loss, ever.
Boyce was best known for playing Carlos in the Disney Descendants film series, while he also starred as Luke Ross in the Disney Channel hit Jessie.
On the big screen, he played Keithie Feder in Grown Ups and its sequel alongside Adam Sandler.
