The Kaizer Chiefs are finally entitled to their long-awaited first leg in the semi-final of the CAF Champions League against Wydad Casablanca on Saturday at the Mohammed V stadium.
The Chiefs managed to end their DStv Premiership campaign on the right foot as two trotting wins propelled them into the top-eight, albeit through the skin of their teeth.
The Amakhosi entered the last four of the Champions League under the tutelage of former coach Gavin Hunt with a 4-3 round-trip victory over Simba SC in the quarter-finals
Interim coach Arthur Zwane will remain in charge of Stuart Baxter’s return, still awaiting his work permit.
Wydad, who headed to the Botola League top on Sunday, joined the bottom four with a 2-1 aggregate victory over MC Alger in the last eight and face Amakhosi for the third time this season.
The Chiefs and their Moroccan giants faced each other in the group stages, and a 4-0 victory went to Wydad in the first draw before Amakhosi won the second leg 1-0 in Johannesburg.
