Sergio Busquets had some honest words regarding Barcelona’s mental state ahead of El Clasico this weekend.
The club’s Champions League prospects look bleak, having picked up just one point from two games against Inter Milan, and the veteran seems to think it could affect them in the Clasico.
“It is clear that it could affect us ahead of El Clasico. We have to pick ourselves up,” he said.
The captain then spoke of the general disappointment with the club’s results against Inter last week.
“It’s a disappointment. It was a tough group but we had to aspire for more after all the signings that were made. It’s not mathematical (completely done) but it’s very difficult.
“We weren’t as efficient in the zones and that pays off in the Champions League. It was a coin toss and it didn’t go well for us in the second half.

Barca now look destined to enter the Europa League for a second consecutive season, hopefully they can get back on track in El Clasico.
