As the summer months approach, the Ohio State football team is gearing up for an action-packed June. With these four weekends sure to be some of the busiest times the staff have likely ever seen, this is a huge opportunity not only to impress the many top players who come to visit, but to hopefully take -le, a few engagements both for their current 2022 class and even possibly in the 2023 class. With just a few weeks before the chaos breaks down, the countdown is on for recruiting to finally get back to the way it was. it is best done, which of course is in person.
Ohio State Ranks in Top Six for 2022 DB
It’s almost rare to see a player offered by the State of Ohio not including the Buckeyes in their final list of schools. The state of Ohio finds itself on a list of the best schools every week, and sometimes even more than that. Obviously the Buckeyes are recruiting so well and are constantly there until the end for their targeted players. Whether it’s the allure of NFL Draft success or the ability to compete nationally, Ohio State’s formula on the scouting track takes them to the top again and again.
On Thursday, the Buckeyes saw their name again in the final race for another player they offered. Taking to his Twitter to announce, Jayden bellamy reduced its offer list to the last six schools. Catholic prospect Bergan from New Jersey currently holds over 20 deals such as Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson, LSU and several more of course including the state of Ohio. Reducing it to six now includes Clemson, Notre Dame, Penn State, Rutgers, Oklahoma and Ohio State.
A 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback, Bellamy’s inclusion of the Buckeyes in his top schools list comes as no total surprise as he will be one of the many players who travel to Columbus in June . Currently, Bellamy is billing himself as a three-star product and the 39th best cornerback in the 2022 class. After adding two defensive returns last week, Bellamy’s recruit may not be what you would think is in high demand. , but with the proposed program, they are clearly interested. Either way, until he makes a final decision, the Buckeyes are in great shape to move forward as they don’t take days off to pursue elite talent.
Basketball Buckeyes see recruiting momentum
The Ohio State football team isn’t the only program on campus with a high recruiting priority. Chris Holtmann and his staff have the Ohio State basketball scouting track littered with influence, and talent is on track for Columbus given that Holtmann has this team in the right direction. Whether it’s in the state or even nationwide, the Buckeye brand is taken seriously on hardwood.
Hoping for good news later today, five star center Efton Reid must make its engagement public at noon. Having already moved back once from an engagement date, we hope that today the decision will take place as he will primarily choose between Florida State, Pitt, LSU and Ohio State. It was thought that Reid might have been thinking elsewhere due to potentially less minutes to go out of the gate if he chose the Buckeyes, but the staff would love to add the third best center in the country and 24th best player in his 2021 category. so late in the game.

Staying on hardwood, the state of Ohio saw some good news yesterday thanks to AJ Casey get an official visit to see the Buckeyes from June 6 to 8. A native of Chicago, Casey is a powerful 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward and one of the nation’s top players for the 2022 class. Ranked as the fifth best player at his position and the No. 21 player overall , Casey would be a huge addition to this Ohio State list. Here’s wishful thinking that this official visit is exactly what Holtmann and his crew need to seal the deal and bring another star from Illinois to Columbus.
Five-star junior AJ Casey Jr. has locked down his first official visit. He will be on the Ohio state campus from June 6 until 8, he said. @Stockrisers.
Buckeyes will have a major target on campus to start the live period.

- According to 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong, the site will update its ranking of players in the 2022 class next July. With the addition of the last two commits Kye stokes and Ryan turner having a few ratings under the radar, it’s likely that these two players will see an increase in their stock after committing to the Buckeyes and being reassessed. Currently, Stokes is the 49th best athlete in the category while Turner is the 34th best cornerback. The July update is expected to change that.
- Current Ohio State Commitment Tegra Tshabola added another commitment to his name when he announced via his Twitter that he would play in the annual All-American Bowl as one of the winners of the prestigious invitation. Ranked 20th best offensive tackle in the category and No. 183 player in the country, Tshabola deserved the chance to face many of the country’s top preparation prospects.
