Barrymore recalled an interview she did with Walters when she was in her early twenties and Walters pressed her about her issues with drug addiction, bisexuality and more, adding, “she wouldn’t back down. not”.

Shields mentioned she wanted the “negative sound bite” while revealing her experiences with Walters.

‘She asked me what my measurements were and asked me to stand up, and I stand up and she compares herself to this little girl, and I thought, ‘That’s not right. I don’t understand what it is,” Shields explained.

“But I just, behaved and smiled and felt so taken advantage of in so many ways,” she added.

“But over the years, you know, when you’ve been in the public eye and you’ve been commented on all the time, everyone has an opinion, and you can all say that, and now that’s where social media, I think, can be dangerous. Then you learn to say no, that’s my truth,” Shields added.

Shields also opened up about another interview that took place when she was even younger – 10 years old – with another female interviewer.

“I must have watched an interview when I was ten or something and this woman asked the same question over and over,” she began.

“Finally, as a little girl, I said, ‘I don’t think you want to know my answer because you keep asking me the same question and this is my answer but I can’t change it because this is my truth,” Shields explained.

She also talked about her new SKIMS campaign, which launched at the end of September and also stars Juliette Lewis, Chelsea Handler, Cassie, Becky G and Indya Moore.

“It was all so quick, but it was so empowering. It was just empowering on a very broad level,” she said.

“What scared me was that normally I have this kind of way of preparing for something…and you kind of say, ‘I’m going to train, I’m going to eat better’…I don’t I didn’t have time, and I just thought, “You know what, stop judging yourself. Listen to the music, pretend,” Shields said.

‘When you see the confidence, even if you have to fake it, I had to fake it until I did it, and I was doing it in real time and I was like, ‘Okay, have a good posture. Come out like you, “I’ve always deserved to be here,” she added.

Empowering: 'It was all so fast but it was so empowering. It was just empowering on a really big level,” she said.

“I felt like I was in a train wreck at the end…but it was an honor.” It’s an honor to be asked to come back anywhere. Kim herself DMed me the next day. There was a human element to it, which probably shocked me more than the fact that I had the courage to put on underwear after those few years,’ Brooke said.

Asked about Kim’s DM, Shields said: “She sent me this message and she said, ‘You know, I just wanted to say thank you. We were so excited and it was such an honor,’ and I said, ‘Say hi to your mom.’

Shields also has Out of Order with Brandon Routh and Luis Guzman in post-production and she’s shooting Quarter with Eric Roberts and Brec Bassinger.
