Samsung is poking fun at its competition by pushing the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 upgrade to more and more eligible Galaxy devices almost every day. And the company appears to have no intention of stopping its onslaught. It has already released the update for nearly two dozen devices and has now brought the Galaxy Z Flip 5G into the mix.
The update does not appear to be rolling out to the LTE variant of the Z Flip yet. Since the LTE and 5G variants use a different processor, Android 13 might take a while to reach the former. In fact, forget we said that, because the rate at which Samsung is pushing the One UI 5.0 update to Galaxy devices might mean the LTE model won’t stick around Android 12 for too long.
Android 13 and One UI 5.0 are rolling out to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in around ten European markets, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland. If the update is available in your country, it may take some time for the update notification to appear. to avoid any delay, you can download the update over the air from the phone Settings » Software Update menu or grab the firmware from our archive and install it using a Windows PC.
Android 13 will be the last big update for the Galaxy Z Flip (LTE and 5G models)
The Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G launched with Android 10 in 2020, and since Samsung only supports them with three major Android OS updates, Android 14 is out of the question. This might be disappointing for some users, but they can take comfort in the fact that the $1,999 Galaxy Fold doesn’t even qualify for Android 13, let alone Android 14.
In any case, if you have a Galaxy Z Flip 5G, be sure to manually check if the update is available for your device as explained above. And watch the videos below for an overview of all the new features you’ll get with Android 13/One UI 5.0.
