The Premier League is back in force

Returning to the Premier League after a two-year stint in the Championship, Bournemouth took the lead thanks to Jefferson Lerma’s early strike and new signing Kieffer Moore doubled with ten minutes remaining.

Tottenham come from behind to hit Southampton

Jesse Lingard, booed by St James’ Park after their failed transfer pursuit in January, had no impact on his Forest debut as two elegant Magpies goals secured the three points.

After 58 minutes of fierce resistance, Fabien Schar netted a screamer from 20 yards out before Callum Wilson put the play away with a clever flick at the near post.

Leeds, meanwhile, inspired hopes for a better season at Elland Road by coming from behind to beat Wolves.

The Yorkshire faithful would have feared the worst after Daniel Podence put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute, but Rodrigo and a Rayan Ait-Nouri own goal sealed a thrilling comeback for Jesse Marsch’s men.

Marsch and Wolves manager Bruno Lage was seen having a heated exchange on the full-time touchline.

Now it’s Frank Lampard and Everton’s turn to see if they can improve by simply surviving last season when Chelsea come to town.
