The Boone County Basketball Hall of Fame wants to announce that its induction ceremony for the 2020 class, originally scheduled for March 21 at Ulen Country Club, will not be rescheduled until 2021, when the pandemic situation is safe for all participants.
Meanwhile, nominations for the 2021 Inductee Class are being accepted until December 31.
To nominate a former Boone County player, coach or anyone who has contributed to Boone County basketball, visit www.BooneCountyHoops.com, download the nomination form, fill it out and mail it by following the instructions on the form. Reminder, it is mandatory that the names of all candidates remain confidential.
The group members’ fall campaign to help the annual scholarship fund is now underway. If you pay the $ 20 membership fee in October, November, or December 2020, that will also cover your membership for all of 2021.
The mission of the Boone County Basketball Hall of Fame is to recognize, honor, promote and preserve the history of Boone County basketball and to provide annual scholarships to graduate basketball athletes in Boone County. . Due to our growing membership and donations, the organization has been able to award four scholarships this year (Jillian Algate, Audianna Bascom, Cauy Nance and Benjamin Weidner) from a competitive field of 10 applications. . This is an increase from the two scholarships awarded in 2019 (Nathan Childress and Amelia Mills.)
