Blur drummer is new Labor candidate for Mid Sussex


Blur has had many hits, including Parklife and Girls & Boys. In 2012, the band received a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

“Dave is committed to providing the energy and vision the region desperately needs,” the local Labor Party said.

Mr Rowntree had also previously been a Labor candidate in the Cities of London and Westminster constituency.

In the 2019 general election, the Conservative Party received 53.3% of the vote in Mid Sussex, with Mims Davies being elected as an MP.

Labor received 17.9% of the vote, behind the Liberal Democrats on 24.3%.

Kristy Adams is the Conservatives’ potential parliamentary candidate, Alison Bennett represents the Liberal Democrats and Deanna Nicholson is running for the Green Party. Gary Johnson represents Reform UK.
