Crypto company Blockchain.com has announced the launch of a new crypto-centric prepaid Visa card and so far 50,000 users have signed up to join the waitlist. Along with launching its Visa crypto card powered by Marqeta card issuing platform, Blockchain.com Visa users will earn 1% back in crypto every time they spend funds using the card.
Blockchain.com Introduces Visa Crypto Card
Blockchain.com joins Crypto.com, Ripio, Bitso, Coinbase, Bitpay, Blockfi and FTX in announcing the launch of a new crypto prepaid Visa card. According to Wednesday’s announcement, Blockchain.com Visa users can “spend from a crypto balance for free and offer the opportunity to earn crypto rewards.”
Additionally, 50,000 registered users have already signed up for the company’s new crypto payment card. “As one of the oldest and most trusted platforms in the crypto industry, we are excited to deploy the next natural step in making crypto easy to use in the real world and accessible to more people. as many people as possible,” said Peter Smith, CEO of Blockchain.com. said in a statement sent to Bitcoin.com News on Wednesday.

Blockchain.com’s Visa card announcement follows the company’s multi-year partnership agreement with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The company previously signed a team-wide deal with the Dallas Cowboys in mid-April, becoming the NFL team’s “exclusive digital asset partner.”
During Wednesday’s announcement, Cuy Sheffield, head of Visa’s crypto unit, explained that the payments giant believes that if crypto adoption is to continue to swell, traditional financial solutions like cards will help. to strengthen this effort.
“At Visa, we believe that for crypto adoption to grow, it is essential that it is readily accepted everywhere,” Sheffield said in a statement. “We are excited to partner with leading crypto wallets and exchanges such as Blockchain.com to unlock more ways for consumers to use their crypto for everyday purchases.”
