The latest Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer not only confirmed a new Black Panther after King T’Challa’s death, but also showed off a new hero for the first time.

The action-packed two-minute clip was released by Marvel on Monday as it showed someone being taken over after the death of Chadwick Boseman’s character in addition to Ironheart being shown for the first time.

The very end of the trailer showed a woman in a tacky costume much like T’Challa’s, presumably her sister Shuri who is played by Letitia Wright.

Another major moment was the first glimpse of Ironheart in a steel suit as she flies through the air much like Iron Man.

It showed Dominique Thorne, played by Riri Williams, assembling the pieces of the complex outfit before taking off.

Later, he showed her shouting “Let’s go!” as she soared through the air.

Ironheart is a teenage engineering student who designs armor similar to Iron Man using materials stolen from campus.

The trailer opened with the emotional funeral of the late T’Challa as his mother, Queen Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, walked alongside Shuri who held the helmet worn by her brother.

Next, an ominous voice could be heard from new villain Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, who said, “Only the most broken people… can be great leaders.”

It then shows Namor, the Undersea King of Talokan, in full royal attire as he descends to his throne in the ocean.

Aneka is the female special forces team’s combat instructor Dora Milaje and is romantically involved with Ayo, played by Florence Kasuma.

Development on a sequel to the original Black Panther shortly after the release of the original, which premiered in 2018.

Many cast members from the first film expressed interest in returning for a follow-up, though plans were complicated when Boseman tragically died of colon cancer in August 2020.

The superhero adventure kicked off with $202 million, going on to take a whopping $700 million domestically and $1.347 billion worldwide.

The film was the highest-grossing film at the domestic box office in 2018 and the second-highest worldwide, just behind Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048 billion).

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently slated for November 11.

A series focused on Thorne’s character is set to premiere on Disney+ next fall.
