Billy Ray Cyrus hopes to make amends with his daughter Miley Cyrus following her snobbery at the Grammys earlier this month.
“He tried to contact Miley multiple times and congratulate her on her Grammys,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us every week. “The kids have chosen sides, but their friends hope the breakup won’t last forever.”
Fans began speculating that there had been discussions in the Cyrus family after Tish Cyrus married Dominique Purcell in August 2023. At the time, only Miley and her older siblings Trace And Brandi Cyrus attended the wedding while his younger brothers and sisters, Braison And Noah Cyruswere visibly missing.
“Miley and Billy Ray are apart,” says the same source. We. “Miley is very close to her mother and stands by her side.”
Noah, on the other hand, has “always been close to Billy Ray,” the source adds. “This caused a rift between her and Miley.”

When Miley won two Grammy Awards earlier this month, the Cyrus family’s tension was evident, as the singer only thanked Tish, Brandi and her “love.” Maxx Morando. Fans were quick to point out that some people — including Billy Ray — were absent from her acceptance speeches.
“Miley hasn’t gotten over the disrespect she thinks Billy Ray showed Tish and the family,” a third source tells We. Tish alluded to these feelings during her appearance on the Feb. 7 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, saying she endured “disrespect in all forms” during her marriage to Billy Ray.
“Disrespect expresses things in many ways. I [didn’t] I even know – until I have a new relationship [where] there was so much respect — how much disrespect there was in my marriage before,” Tish said during the episode. “Honestly, on our side.”
