Hollywood actress Laura Dern was heartbroken after leaving for work and returning home to find that her fiance Billy Bob Thornton had married Angelina Jolie behind her back.
The Jurassic Park star, 53, met Billy Bob, 64, in 1997 and they started dating before getting engaged.
They had been together for three years and she was on her way to becoming the actor’s fifth wife when she left the house they shared and went to work on a film.
While she was away, her fiance married another woman – her Pushing Tin co-star Angelina, who at 24 was two decades younger than her, and did not tell her.
Laura admitted that she had no idea when her relationship was ending until she heard about the marriage – and that she never heard from Billy Bob again.

Speaking in 2000 after the wedding bombshell, Laura told Talk magazine: “I left our house to work on a movie, and while I was away my boyfriend got married and I never got married again. heard of him. “
She went on to reveal that one of the most painful parts of the situation was that Billy Bob had ghosted her – and she felt like she never got a fence.
Laura added: “It’s like sudden death. For no one there has been no closure or clarity.”

To make matters worse, it was later revealed that Laura babysat Angelina as a child.
Laura’s actor’s father Bruce made the revelation, revealing he was good friends with Angelina’s dad, Jon Voight.
He told Yahoo Movies: “Jon Voight is a friend of mine, so I remember Laura babysitting one night for Angelina when Angelina was two and Laura about eight …

“Because Jon and I were doing [a movie together called] Go home.
“They stayed at [director] Hal Ashby’s house, so they asked [Laura] Forthcoming [to watch Angie]. “
The split was apparently so acrimonious that Laura had to enlist the help of a friend, Melissa Etheridge, to help her retrieve her belongings from the house she shared with Billy Bob.

Speaking on Sirius XM, Etheridge explained, “I was there when Angelina wasn’t doing nice things with Billy Bob to Laura Dern.
“I helped Laura get out of her house with Billy Bob – I like to bar in their house to get their things out because it was so mean.”
During his marriage to Angelina, which lasted from 2000 to 2003, Billy Bob spoke about the situation with Laura and admitted that he had “f **** d up”.
He told the Guardian, “See, I fucked up a lot. I was wrong.
“In relationships, I was not present. Or I did bad things …
“I don’t want to build when I love, when I write. I don’t want to go to couples therapy to resolve a relationship.
“I don’t want to work there. I don’t believe it, I never did.
“Others may say that you left our daughter and married someone else. But it made me happy and someone else happy. I’m sorry it caused pain.
Billy Bob and Angelina separated in 2003 after three years of marriage.
Laura then married musician Ben Harper in 2005 and they welcomed two children together before going their separate ways in 2010.
