In another very weird but almost predictable turn of events this year, Billie Eilish fans are unable to get their money back for tickets to his “Where are we going?” tower.

The Grammy-winning “Bad Guy” crooner on Thursday sparked his long-suffering fan base – sometimes referred to as “eyelashes,” “pirates” or “lawyers” – by tweeting a note about refunds.

“[W]We tried as many different scenarios as possible for the tour but none are possible and while I know many of you want to keep your tickets and VIP passes the best thing we can do for everyone is to get the money back into your hands as soon as possible, ”the singer wrote in a declaration, promising to share details of upcoming visits.

The 18-year-old phenomenon’s first arena tour, which kicked off in Miami in early March, was among those postponed until the spring and ultimately canceled when stay-at-home orders came into effect to stem the spread of the new coronavirus. . Months later, the repercussions are still being felt in the live entertainment industries as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to mount in the United States – a seemingly lost fact for Eilish fans.

Eilish’s latest announcement was an integral part of the postponement / cancel / refund routine that has become a familiar ritual throughout this desperate year. But hundreds of young fans didn’t have it, begging the “So I am” artist to honor and let them keep their precious tickets.

Why? Tickets for the 42 date tour were almost impossible to obtain, they said. Not to mention expensive. SeatGeek estimated the average price of a regular ticket to be $ 234, which means front row seats and VIP options cost significantly more. In October, Pollstar reported that half a million tickets had been sold in the first hour of sales for the five-month stint that would take the “Ocean Eyes” singer through North America, America. from the South and Europe.

The fight was very real to his fans.

“Brb while I cry in my pillow!” said a response to Eilish’s statement. “It took so long to get to the front row too, just let us keep our tickets until you come back please !! It’s so difficult to get them in first place, let alone a second time.

“I worked my ass to get tickets and I didn’t even make half of what I paid for my tickets at the time,” said another response.

“The fact that corona ruined the only thing that kept me going. and how hard it was to buy a ticket … man. gonna cry brb, ”another user wrote.

“As [I know] It’s not Billie’s fault directly but I won’t be able to get tickets the second time around. Like I’ve waited years to see her and now I have to pay back the one chance I had …? It’s just a little disappointing, ”said another user.

“The fact that we will not be reimbursed for the ticket fees and delivery, we will never be able to get the same seats again, we will not be guaranteed to see Billie live again as she gets bigger and bigger, so more people want to see her. Just keep tickets for [n]upcoming ext tour. We don’t care if it’s the tour when we all fall asleep, we want to see Billie. LET US KEEP OUR TICKETS !! Thought another.

Perhaps sensing the backlash to come, Eilish signed off with a reminder to his fans to “stay safe, drink plenty of water” and “wear a mask.”

Too bad a mask doesn’t cover their ocean-filled eyes.
