Billie Eilish couldn’t help but throw a good tag out the window when she met Prince william and Kate Middleton.
The singer of the “villain” stopped Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday October 13, where she spoke about her meeting with the British Royal Family at the No time to die premiered in September. Eilish attended the London premiere of The Last James bond flick because she wrote and performed the title song, which already won her a Grammy Award.
Bond being such an iconic British figure, the event brought together very British guests, including members of the Royal Family. Luckily for the pop star, this meant she had the pleasure of meeting Prince william, Kate Middleton, and prince charles.
But, while everyone always hears about the strict rules you have to follow when meeting royals, Eilish explained to Jimmy kimmel that it was a lot less formal than she thought.
“There was a whole list of things,” the 19-year-old said of etiquette and the formalities she was told to follow when meeting the royals at the premiere. But, when it came time to say hello, she didn’t pay attention to those rules.
“I tried, I had planned that. And they were so normal, ”she explained. “They didn’t make me say, ‘Oh, I’m scared, I can’t talk to them.’ They were glowing and they had all of these questions for me. They were just very friendly and loved… funny and kind. I can not complain. It was amazing. “
During the remainder of Billie’s nighttime visit, she switched to discussing other topics with the host, including the idea of going to space. Unlike many of her celebrity colleagues, Eilish isn’t into the idea.
“I would literally prefer to do something else,” she said when asked to go to space. “I hate the idea.”
She then told Kimmel a story about someone asking her to sing in space, which she immediately rejected. “It didn’t make sense to me.”
Well, when you meet the British Royal Family and win Grammys on earth, it’s understandable that you don’t want to go anywhere else.
