Chantelle Houghton says she wants to stay single after failed marriage and canceled engagement – just months after saying ‘I need a new husband!’
Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton has said she wants to stay single after two failed engagements and a divorce since quitting reality TV.
The TV personality told her fans late last year that she and ex-fiancé Michael Strutt were calling off the engagement after their relationship broke down.
And just months after joking she ‘needed a new husband’, the mother-of-one has now called it quits on any relationship for the foreseeable future.

Glamorous ex-model Chantelle told The Sun that although she’s not in a relationship with anyone, she’s “ok with it” and instead focuses on living in the present.
“I’m not desperate for someone. I want someone to add to my life, not take me, which is what I’ve had before,” she said.
“I don’t allow anyone to invite trouble into my life.
‘I’d rather be alone, than sit on the sofa with someone who drives you around the bend and who you don’t want to be romantic with, just to say ‘oh I’m with someone’.’
The reality star, who appeared in the 2006 celebrity spin-off as the only civilian contestant, married singer Preston after they met at the house, but they separated nine months later.

Chantelle recently revealed that she still had the wedding dress from her big day 16 years earlier and that she “won the love game” when she met Preston during her time on the show.
Speaking This Morning in August, Chantelle reflected on being the only civilian contestant in the celebrity edition, tasked with convincing her housemates that she really is famous. She won this series.
She told hosts Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay: “I didn’t know what they had planned for me until I walked into the house, the only thing I was told was at half celebrities half normal people.”

“My goal was to stay in the house, the confidence I had when I was so young – I’d like to have some of that now.”
Chantelle then reflected on her short-lived marriage to Preston, although the pair were later reunited on the show’s Ultimate series in 2010, and have remained on good terms ever since.
When asked if she would compete again, Chantelle added, “I would do it again, I need a new husband.”

She split from Alex just two days after he was arrested at their Brentwood home on suspicion of causing criminal damage to the couple’s home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
