The Beyhive is offline and on TV screens. NBC Philadelphia reporter Sheila Watko delivered the traffic report earlier this week and inserted several song titles from Beyoncé’s discography into her dialogue, including bits of Renaissance, much to the delight of Bey’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.
“Thank you, Bill, I always appreciate it when you ‘Say my name.’ Now if you just woke up hope you did “Sweet Dreams” but the traffic gets “Heated” and it starts to “Break My Soul” a little bit “Watko starts the traffic report on Bey’s theme. “If you think it feels slower than usual, it’s just not ‘All Up In Your Mind.’ This is because all lanes are closed in both directions, this is due to a pull down.
She continued, “Now, ‘Listen,’ I told you a minute ago that I-95 still looks good around Cottman Avenue. Now that’s going to sound like I’m lying because it’s pretty stuck up, but at least I’m a “beautiful liar”. …It’s the final “countdown” here because every time I check it gets more and more crowded as you head downtown.
Before signing off, Watko reminded viewers to take precautions when on the roads in light of traffic jams. “We need you to be careful when you go out, start your commute to work, earn that money, pay those ‘bills, bills, bills’. Just ‘Bey’ alert out there. flowing smooth this morning, we can be ‘Crazy in Love’ with a nice, calm ride,” she concluded.
Beyoncé’s puns didn’t stop there. Watko tweeted of the video, “When the traffic is *jumpin, jumpin*, it’s time to pay tribute to Queen Bey, who I’m *dangerously in love with*.”
Knowles-Lawson loved the tribute to her daughter and posted the video to her Instagram account Thursday, August 4. “It’s so cool !! All song titles [sic]she captioned the video with a crying and laughing emoji and a red heart emoji.
