Beyonce "Renaissance" Coming Out Party: Donald Glover, Janelle Monae – Highsnobiety

It’s been about a week since Beyoncé gave up Renaissance. I know, it’s crazy, right?

Seems like it’s easily been a month since Beyoncé graced the world with her confident disco hits and ballroom-worthy bops. Like the Bey Hive, I couldn’t stop listening Renaissance myself (“Alien Superstar” is my favorite right now).

Since her release, Beyoncé Renaissance album was met with much-anticipated praise and even a little drama with Kelis and, uh, Monica Lewinsky. However, it was nothing a few album tweaks couldn’t fix.

Nonetheless, the hyphenated album is still trending, especially after Bey told the world she prefers Telfar bags to Birkins and brought Madonna on board for the “Break My Soul” remix.

Now the internet buzz is locked on Queen Bey’s New York album release party, which shot Renaissance three times, according to Questlove.

Dubbed “Renaissance Club,” Beyoncé’s party brought out the biggest names in the industry dressed in their funkiest disco yarns.

Donald Glover, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kendrick Lamar, Questlove, Janelle Monae and Chloe Bailey were the few familiar faces on the star-studded guest list.

Since our invite got lost in the mail, join us in rewatching some of the grooviest looks from Beyoncé’s Club Renaissance party.

Donald Glover… or Childish Gambino?

I don’t know if I’m looking at Donald Glover or Childish Gambino here, but this look exudes the buzzing night at Studio 54.

An iridescent jumpsuit? Male split? Glamorous eye makeup? Wild or themed, Glover, or uh Gambino, was the moment at Beyoncé’s Renaissance Club.

Tina Knowles

Mama Tina said, “I’m the disco ball,” opting for a dazzling crystal-embellished costume.

While her look had already shaken me, I couldn’t help but resist her choice of accessories: a portable fan and a panoramic pouch.

Jill Scott

Jill Scott brought ’70s flair to her black ensemble, flexing the era’s vibrancy in her braids, bold lip and Louis Vuitton Moonlight half boots.

Janelle Monae

Underrated style queen Janelle Monae delivered another banger with a 70s-themed monochromatic spin on the bash.

Need I say more? I do not think so.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio totally ignored Club Renaissance’s fun retro dress code, opting for a monotonous all-black look topped with white kicks.

To be honest, I’m just happy to see the A-list actor come out of hiding just for Beyoncé (I would do the same).

Kendrick Lamar

Fresh off the stage at his last Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers concert, Kendrick Lamar had another awesome moment while celebrating Bey’s album release.

With his Club Renaissance look, the musician enhanced his black suit with sparkly Rocketbuster cowboy boots.

Not only does it satisfy Bey’s Studio 54-esque theme, it also passes the rodeo vibe test.

Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi’s look was simply a chef’s kiss moment, from the shimmering colorblock pleated dress to the subtle Dior flex to remind everyone that she is their global ambassador.

It’s no wonder Miss Tina Knowles devoted a solo Instagram post to Shahidi’s look.

Tyler Perry

Like most guys, Tyler Perry also played it safe with a black foundation, accented with a groovy themed paisley print and chunky Prada boot.

Lala

After seeing Lala’s jewel-embellished bodysuit and boots, it’s safe to say that “Alien Superstar” is probably her favorite song from the album.

Nonetheless, I’m here for Lala kissing her unicorn as her uniform (fans of “Alien Superstar” will get the reference).

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

If we were still in the 70s, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s silky smooth ensemble would have earned him the title of “bad mother-shut-your-mouth.” It’s so good.

Chloe Bailey

No thought, just Chloe Bailey looking like the queen of disco in this iconic gold look and silver trainers.

Trevor Noah

An unbuttoned blouse with a few manly chest hairs, Trevor Noah went wild at Beyoncé’s album release party in a tasteful printed shirt.

Even after Ye Nonsense, Noah is living his best life with an invitation from Bey.

Marni Senofonte

Bey’s stylist Marni Senofonte channeled some big disco energy (literally) with her gold sequin XXXL flare sleeve dress and gold pumps.

Maybe her golden look will manifest the award she deserves for styling Bey’s coffee table. Renaissance go out.
