Today, Twitter released new data on what Americans have listened to, watched, ate, and done to stay connected and be entertained over the past six months.
The data revealed that the top five artists tweeted were: South Korean boy group BTS at # 1, Kanye West at # 2, Beyoncé at # 3, Drake at # 4 and Megan Thee Stallion at No 5.
Are we surprised? Not at all.
Beyoncé and Megan both had exceptional years, staying in the news for new music and philanthropic efforts.

Megan has had an amazing year, with the singles “WAP” and “Savage Remix”, her collaborations with Cardi B and Beyoncé, respectively, topping the charts. She was also in the news for the unfortunate encounter she had with R&B artist Tory Lanez.

Beyoncé also had an exceptional year, with the release of Black is king and give back to Houston during the current coronavirus crisis. The Houston duo both received their own days from Mayor Sylvester Turner to honor their efforts.

What makes it even better? The year isn’t over yet – the two Houston natives could still achieve something even bigger, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
