Ben White will not travel with the Arsenal squad for their training camp in Dubai after leaving England’s World Cup squad for ‘personal reasons’.
White returned from Qatar on November 30, the day after England sealed their 16th place finish with a 3-0 win over Wales.
It has now been reported that he will not be traveling with the Gunners for training camp and friendlies against Lyon and AC Milan in the Middle East.
A Football Association statement earlier this week read: “Ben White has left England’s training base at Al Wakrah and has returned home for personal reasons.
“The Arsenal defender is not expected to return to the squad for the rest of the tournament.
“We ask that the player’s privacy be respected at this time.”
Arsenal followed up the story with a post on their website which read: “We’re all with you, Ben.”
Mikel Arteta and his squad travel to the United Arab Emirates for some warm weather training ahead of the resumption of the European club season with the Gunners top of the Premier League.
A squad of around 26 players are expected to travel to Dubai, including 12 youth team hopefuls.
It’s unclear if White will join his teammates later in training camp.
