Roman was an American stand-up comedian who performed on many stages and appeared in countless shows and pictures throughout his long career, which he kept active until his later years.

Multi-talented writer, actor and producer daughter Judi Levin told TMZ that he died at a hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida, after suffering a heart attack Saturday morning at his country club.

She added that her entire family was in attendance, including his 63-year-old wife, Ethel.

Roman will be remembered as a fixture of the Friars Club as he was once the head of the famous New York club which was known as a stable for comics and celebrities over the years.

Roman was the dean of the 1990s until Larry King succeeded him in 2014.

Freddie co-wrote and starred in the Broadway show Catskills.

He has performed at countless prestigious venues over the years, including Caesars Palace in Vegas and Harrah’s in Atlantic City, to name a few.

Roman was also part of several big roasts for Comedy Central where he threw jokes at Drew Carey, Rob Reiner, Hugh Hefner, Chevy Chase and Jerry Stiller.

Roman has starred in many films including: Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resort (2012), The Last Laugh (2006), Bittersweet Place (2005), Christ in the City (2005) and many more.

He has also appeared on many TV shows including: Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Now That’s Funny!, Stark Raving Mad, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson to name a few.

Freddie continued performing well into old age and was an integral part of the New York comedy scene his entire life.
