Bayern Munich wonderkid Mathys Tel tears up for France U-19 in EURO qualifier – Bavarian Football Works

The World Cup is not the only international action in football.

Bayern Munich’s sensational 17-year-old transfer window signing Mathys Tel is tearing up European Championship qualifying for the French U-19 side, who won 3-1 against the U-19s Scottish on Tuesday.

It keeps the youthful side of Blues perfect in their first three qualifying games. And Tel’s goals – one from open play, a composed and calmly scored penalty – were also magnificent.

The Scotland national team also offers the full game on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

Tel didn’t play much in his debut campaign at Bayern. Through the winter break, in all competitions, he has played just 355 minutes – with two starts in twelve games and no Champions League starts. But he already has four goals to his name and although his game still has a maturing process to go through, he looks like a prospect who will soon be on the right track.

While Sadio Mané was seriously injured at the very end of Hinde, Tel could have the opportunity to increase his workload after the international break. Hopefully his national youth team experience helps him stay sharp and boost his confidence – so club manager Julian Nagelsmann will have something to dabble in fine, precision steel in the spring.
