Barcelona have paid tribute to former star Marcos Alonso Pena, who died aged 63.
The father of former Chelsea left-back and current Barca player Marcos Alonso died on Thursday after a long illness.
Alonso Pena played 124 games and scored 28 goals for the La Liga giants over five years between 1982 and 1987.
Following the news, Barcelona paid tribute to their former striker.
“FC Barcelona would like to express their deepest condolences on the death of former Barca player and father of first team player Marcos Alonso Pena,” the club wrote in a tweet.
“All our strength to Marcos Alonso and all his family. Rest in peace.”
Club president Joan Laporta then paid tribute to the Spaniard by granting him a minute’s silence before addressing the media on Thursday.
“Today we learned the sad news of the death of Marcos Alonso, our former player,” he said.

“I would like to ask for a respectful minute of silence in memory of Marcos Alonso, the father of our current player Marcos Alonso.”
Footage on the club’s social media channel then shows those in attendance rising to pause and pay their respects to Alonso Pena.
Alonso Pena began his career at Racing Santander at the end of the 1970s before joining Atletico Madrid and then Barça.
The Spanish winger then returned to Atletico and Santander later in his career, before retiring in 1991 and also made 22 appearances for Spain at international level, scoring once.
Alonso Pena’s son, former Bolton and Chelsea ace Marcos Alonso joined Barca this summer.
