Bachelorette star Elly Miles is accused of attending ANOTHER boozy Australia Day party

Elly Miles has been accused of attending another boozy Australia Day party after facing backlash last year for delivering a somber speech about how painful the day can be for Indigenous people, few long before knocking down shots at a backyard party.

The influencer, 27, was called out by Instagram page Celeb Spellcheck for ‘doing exactly what she apologized for last year’ after posting a now-deleted photo of herself savoring a glass of champagne surrounded by a group of friends.

In Wednesday’s now-deleted Instagram post, the reality star was seen smiling as she held a glass of champagne as she sat at an outdoor table with her friends.

Elly has since insisted it was not Australia Day.

“I want to jump on my stories real quick because I have a few comments on my photos that people are a little worried I’m at an Australia party,” she began.

“And I just want to say so that you hear directly from me, I’m not. I’m at a friend’s house, [we’ve] Got the kids in the pool, we hang out. We have friends who are leaving, that’s all.

Addressing the conversation: Following the backlash, Elly took to her Instagram Stories, insisting she was in no way at an Australia Day party

“So I wanted to come here so you could hear directly from me. I want to clarify this now. I am for abolishing the date.

“I 110% respect that this is Aboriginal land we live on, and I don’t support Australia Day at all.”

Hours later, however, Elly raised her eyebrows as she documented attending a boozy Australia Day pool party.

The rather tone-deaf sequence of events was not lost on Elly’s Instagram followers, many of whom accused her of being a hypocrite.

One fan wrote: “Just a bit contradictory and confusing to post your support changing the date and then heading to what can be assumed to be an Australia Day… as it is a Australia Day party. Australia?”

Another commented on Elly’s Instagram page: ‘Very upsetting to see you posting a date change on this day of mourning but you are going to an Australia party on the same day. It’s so disappointing and beyond tone deaf.

Other followers have accused Elly of feigning empathy for Indigenous people in order to improve her public image as an influencer.

Another agreed, “I feel like these influencers are saying something about it just to say they did it. Maybe because they’ll cop s**t if they don’t?

Addressing the fury in an Instagram post at the time, Elly wrote: “In response to people’s comments yesterday, I can’t say anything in this situation other than ‘I’m sorry’.

“I stand by my participation in the Change the Date protest and I think this is a hugely important issue. I was really insincere with my presence.

“I know what it’s like, we all make mistakes – I made one yesterday and all I can say once again, from the bottom of my heart, is I’m so sorry.”
