The iconic 90s Australian drama Heartbreak High is coming to Netflix soon.

Twenty-six years after the teen series first aired, it will debut on the popular streaming site on November 27.

On Wednesday, Netflix ANZ tweeted: Telling the rest of the world to take their shoes off because: #HeartbreakHigh spinning light police cars are coming to Netflix Australia and NZ.

In March, TV Tonight reported that Fremantle was producing the show for a highly anticipated comeback.

The series ran for seven seasons and followed the lives of students at Hartley High in a multicultural Sydney suburb.

It was a pioneering show that dealt with hot topics such as sex, drugs, racism, religion, family, education and homelessness among its many plots.

It featured a talented Australian who’s who including Ada Nicodemou, Alex Dimitriades, Salvatore Coco, Scott Major and Callan Mulvey.

Heartbreak High first aired on Channel 10 from 1994 to 1996 before transferring to ABC from 1997 until it was discontinued in 1999.

Former Heartbreak High star Salvatore Coco raised the possibility of a reboot last year.

He told The Morning Show hosts that he would be interested in participating but doesn’t know who could possibly “ make it. ”

“If there is someone out there who is willing to do it and fund it, let’s do it,” he added.

He also suggested that a good way to bring the cast back would be to do a new series in which the old characters have children who attend Hartley High.
