Arsenal are said to be one of many clubs to follow RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from many clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The Standard report that the Gunners are “stalking” the center-back in hopes that he becomes available this summer.
Konate has impressed the Bundesliga team this season and he could be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Arsenal are already gearing up for the summer transfer window as the manager look to shape his squad.
Arteta said: “We’ll see. We are planning what will happen this summer. It will depend on where we end, how we end.
“I think what we had to do in December is unprecedented for a club of this caliber. To do the number of transactions we had to complete, this also tells you where we are.
“I think it was really necessary and you want to improve yourself, you want to do it.
“This is where you have things in the house and believe you can improve it. Acquire external players to move to the next level. Everything is planned and let’s see. “
Center-backs could top Arteta’s list with David Luiz out of contract this summer while Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis were discharged in January.
Right-back Hector Bellerin has also been linked with a move away from the club as Arteta seeks to make his mark in the squad.
So far, things have not gone as planned this season with the Gunners 10th in the Premier League and eight points behind the top four.
