Arsenal are reportedly assessing a shock move to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford on a free transfer next year.
The 24-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, although the Red Devils have the option of initiating a 12-month extension.
But they are yet to exercise their clause, with the England international free to talk to overseas clubs about a January departure.
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain were keen to sign the player this summer.
However, United boss Erik ten Hag blocked a potential exit as he insisted Rashford was a key player for him.
A new destination has emerged for Rashford, with Football Insider stating that Arsenal are closely monitoring his situation at the Theater of Dreams.
It was reported earlier this year how Rashford was being watched by Mikel Arteta as a possible replacement for Alexandre Lacazette in the lead.
But Arsenal opted to bring in Gabriel Jesus in place of Manchester City, with the Brazilian having five Premier League goals to his name this season.
Arsenal appear to have retained their interest in Rashford, who is believed to be valued at around £50million by United.
With his future in question, however, Arsenal could manage to secure his services for nothing.
Rashford has registered three goals and two assists in seven games in all competitions this season.
Two of those strikes came against the Gunners last month where his brace helped United beat Arteta’s side 3-1.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have received a huge boost with the news that Hale End graduate Bukayo Saka is closing in on a new deal.
The 21-year-old – tied to the Emirates until 2024 – is said to have agreed a five-year, £52m deal worth £200,000 a week.
This is almost SEVEN TIMES more than his current weekly salary of £30,000, where he is one of the lowest paid players in the Arsenal squad.
And Arsenal have also opened talks to extend French centre-back William Saliba’s stay in north London.
That’s according to The Times, who said the 21-year-old will be offered a significant raise from his current £40,000-a-week salary.
