Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed a deal which will see Slot become the new manager at Anfield, alongside members of his backroom team.

The two clubs have agreed compensation worth more than £9.4 million (€11 million) which will see Slot replace Klopp, with the manager desperate for a move to Anfield.

The Eredivisie campaign is about to end, which has given Liverpool the green light to move forward and negotiate with Feyenoord now without any distractions.

Slot had previously revealed that he hoped a deal would be reached between the two clubs.

He made his intentions clear after Feyenoord’s 3-1 win over the Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday.

“It seems clear to me that I would like to work there,” said the 45-year-old.

“All I can say is that the clubs are in negotiations. I’m in the waiting room.”

Slot led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season, as well as the Dutch Cup this season in a win over Nijmegen on Sunday.

It was only after the cup victory that Liverpool took their interest in the manager seriously, as if to show their respect for the club.

The Reds had carried out a data-driven approach to finding their successor to Klopp this year after the German announced his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

Several candidates came forward, including Julian Nagelsmann and Ruben Amorim, before Slot emerged as the ideal replacement.

The young manager has been praised for his attacking style, as well as his ability to develop young players, and had turned down the chance to take over at Tottenham last season.
