Ariana Grande’s Cover Video of Tate McRae’s “We Can’t Be Friends” – UPROXX

All available evidence indicates that Tate McRae is very happy with The Kid Laroi, who publicly confirmed their relationship during her The first tour stopover in Dublin, Ireland, April 14. That didn’t stop her from making a cover of Ariana Grande’s film Billboard Top 100 charts “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)”, a true breakup anthem.

McRae performed the song during his headlining Think Later World Tour concert in London at the start of the week. A video recorded by a fan made the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) and by the end of McRae’s performance, the person recording the video was audibly sobbing.

Someone named Maureen asked: “Oh my God, did someone ask her to sing it or did she just do it?” McRae’s fan account @t8mcraetours responded: “She said before singing ‘this is my first cover of this tour’ so she probably wanted to do it herself.”

McRae’s tour in support of his December LP Think later will continue across the UK and Europe until the end of May. The North American leg is scheduled to begin on July 5 at the Cowboys Music Festival in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Grande has not confirmed any tour plans to support Eternal sunso McRae’s cover might be the closest we’ll ever get to hearing it performed live – at least in the immediate or intermediate future.
