“Trans people are under attack across the country,” she said. “36 states have introduced more than 100 bills to curb [their] rights”
Pop singer Ariana Grande announced on Instagram Friday her partnership with TranSanta, an organization co-founded by Pose star Indya Moore who aims to help trans people fill their “wish lists” during Pride Month.
“Right now trans people are under attack across the country. 36 states have introduced more than 100 bills aimed at restricting the rights of transgender people, ”she captioned the article. “We need to show the trans community that they are loved and supported.”
Fans of the “Thank U Next” singer were quick to show her their gratitude for her involvement in the cause.
” Thanks for supporting us ” a fan commented. Another fan written in comments section, “So grateful for you and all you do for us, thank you for caring about the way you do it. Proud of you.”
Grande has always shown her love for the LGBTQ + community, since her mainstream breakthrough in 2013.
In 2015, the “Yours Truly” singer performed her “Honeymoon Tour” at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. She celebrated National Coming Out Day by giving a sentimental message to fans who have trouble getting out.
“To my gay fans, I love you so much. And to my fans who haven’t come out of the closet yet, to my girls who are shy: I love you, and you don’t have to rush. You can take your time, ”she told the audience. “And if someone makes fun of you for being who you are, I’ll kick them a **.”
TranSanta was launched in December 2020 by Pose actress Indya Moore, to show trans kids that you love them on vacation. The concept was developed with his friends Kyle Lasky, Chase Strangio and Pidgeon Pagonis.
Donors can visit the Official Instagram of TranSanta and can anonymously purchase a gift for a child based on their wishlist posted on the page. These gifts often include gender-affirming essentials, such as school bags for trans men or breast prostheses for trans women.
“Trans issues unfortunately don’t get a lot of visibility or attention, but this has been the most violent and deadly year for my community. It was very upsetting, ”Moore said in the Instagram video.
“My friends and I want to make sure that trans kids feel like a gift to this world, because they are,” she continued. “Acceptance and love are gifts we all deserve all year round.”
