The last decade has seen a noticeable trend in pop superstars making the transition to business women. After seeing the massive success of cultural icons like Rihanna successfully market their brands like Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, it’s no surprise that many more aim to echo the trend.

On September 9, pop singer-songwriter Ariana Grande announced the launch of her own line of cosmetics, aptly titled REM Beauty after the fourth track from her Grammy-winning studio album “Sweetener.” Completed with dazzling teasers featuring hitmaker “Positions” basking in a ’60s-inspired miniskirt and boots, the announcement thrilled many fans.
This is not Grande’s first attempt in the business world, having already released a series of fragrances over the years. Her most recent, titled “God is a Woman,” acted as her seventh fragrance with a whole new style of fragrance featuring a vegan and cruelty-free formula of natural ingredients.

In a cover interview with Allure, Grande detailed what fans should expect from REM Beauty, as well as the inspiration for the cosmetic design.
“I always looked to the 50s and 60s and 70s for glamorous references,” Grande said. “I always imagined myself in a different time. I’ve always wanted to wear this makeup, wear this hair, wear these outfits, be these artists.
She noted that the first expected products focus on makeup specifically focused on eyeliner and eye shadow.
“They are our main storytellers and sources of communication. I feel like you can move more with your eyes than you can sometimes articulate, ”said Grande.

Fans should also expect false eyelashes, lipsticks, mascaras, and plumping gloss spots that can be used to recreate many of Grande’s iconic looks.
No announcement on the release dates for these products has been made, but interested fans have been invited to follow Grande’s Instagram account @rembeauty dedicated to the beauty line.
