Big day for hardware at Apple HQ. In addition to a pair of new iPads, the company just released the latest version of the mobile-dominated Apple Watch. As expected, the Apple Watch Series 7 marks one of the biggest design changes in the smartwatch’s six-year history. The new watch sports a redesigned display that’s 20% larger than the Series 6, while “barely affecting” the size of the watch, thanks to smaller bezels.
The corners are rounded and the screen is significantly brighter than the last version. The new screen can hold 50% more text than previous models, and the system has a new text entry feature with AI predictions. The glass on the front has been reinforced and the watch is now rated IP6X.
Contrary to rumors, the battery has not been improved this time around. However, it can charge around 33% faster, so you can get some juice quickly before the sleep tracker.
Apple Watch Series 7 will arrive later this fall, starting at $ 399. The cases are available in five different colors. The Series 3 sticks around, priced at $ 279, while the SE costs $ 279. The new watch will ship with WatchOS 8, which now includes bike tracking.
