A few days after the release of the latest iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and watchOS betas, Apple has made macOS 10.15.3 beta 3 available to developers for testing.

The latest beta version of macOS Catalina can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center for those who are enrolled in the test program, or via a live update on devices running beta software. Public beta versions usually arrive a few days after the developer version, via the Apple Beta software program website.

It is unclear what Apple is modifying or updating in any of the betas, as the support documents for each version indicate that there are no “release notes” for the software update. The incremental nature of each strongly suggests that beta is intended for performance improvements and minor changes, rather than adding or modifying functionality.

Both AppleInsider and Apple itself strongly recommends that users do not install beta on “critical” or primary devices, as there is a remote possibility of data loss or other problems. Instead, testers should install beta on secondary or nonessential devices and make sure there are enough backups of important data before the update.
