Apple recommends that Apple Park employees work from home today due to coronavirus problems – 9to5Mac

According to a report by Internal of the business community, Apple tells employees at its Cupertino, Apple Park and Infinite Loop campuses, that it now recommends working from home as an “extra precaution” (via Mark Gurman).

Further details on the policy are not clear at the moment. Many divisions of Apple may find it difficult to do their work remotely effectively, which may be why it is a recommendation rather than a requirement at this point. Apple has not yet confirmed the arrangements publicly.

Advice from the Santa Clara public health department yesterday asked Silicon Valley companies to “consider using telework options for the right employees.” So maybe the report today comes from Apple’s implementation of health advice.

The same opinion also stated that companies should minimize or cancel “large meetings and conferences in person”. Apple has already announced that it will no longer participate in SXSW, where it plans to launch the first of the next three Apple TV + shows.

However, the company has yet to comment on its plan for WWDC, which typically attracts 5,000 Apple developers worldwide for a week-long conference in June.

Apple is joining other tech titans like Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft to adopt remote working hours following the coronavirus epidemic.

According to the latest government data reports, 231 cases of new coronavirus have been identified in the United States so far. Worldwide, the number of cases is said to have exceeded 100,000.
