Apple Music deployment feature that displays new music notifications from favorite artists in your library – MacRumors

Today, Apple is rolling out a new feature for Apple Music users, prominently displaying new albums, EPs, and videos from their favorite artists at the top of the Library tab in iOS.

The new feature first appears as a home page in “Apple Music” on iOS, telling users that they can “see new music from artists you love”. This will allow you to get updates on new versions of the artists you’re listening to, with notifications appearing above your library of albums and playlists.

In the feature settings, it looks like you can’t exactly specify which artists you want to receive notifications from. You can only choose to enable or disable these notifications, and whether or not you want to see these notifications in your Library tab.

The updated notifications feature is not widely available at the time of writing, but a select group of users appear to have the update so far. To check, you can visit “Apple Music” on iPhone or iPad; the splash screen will appear for people who can use the new feature.

Apple Music‌ has offered push notifications for new albums and music from artists you’ve streamed in the past, but these are fairly unreliable. Now that Apple is placing notifications directly in the ‌Apple Music‌ app, the company seems to be trying to offer more reliable information about new album releases.

(Thanks, Joshua!)
