Apple released the third developer beta for watchOS 7.4, just days after the iOS and macOS beta releases were released.
The latest version, released Thursday, can be downloaded by developers as part of the beta testing program through Apple Developer Center, or as a live update for hardware already using earlier beta versions. A public beta of the builds is expected to arrive soon and will be available on Apple’s beta software program website.
WatchOS beta versions usually feature bug fixes or other improvements without any changes for the user. The current update cycle includes over 200 new emoji and changes to the Apple Music app.
Appleinsider, and Apple itself, strongly suggest that users avoid installing beta versions on “critical” or primary devices, due to the risk of data loss or other issues. Rather, it is recommended that you install betas on secondary or non-essential devices and ensure that there are enough backups of important data beforehand.
