Apple has provided developers with the latest version of the macOS Ventura 13.0 beta, with the fifth version now available for download on devices.

The most recent betas can be picked up through the Apple Developer Center for those enrolled in the testing program, or via an over-the-air update to hardware running the beta software. Public betas usually appear a few days after developer versions, via Apple’s beta software program website.

Apple previously released the fourth beta on July 27. The third developer beta was released on July 6. The second developer beta landed on June 22, while the first arrived after the WWDC keynote on June 6.

The final public release will arrive this fall, coinciding with its other major OS releases.

The fifth beta is build number 22A5321d, replacing the fourth build, 22A5311f.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly recommend that users do not install beta versions on “critical” or primary devices, as there is a risk of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install beta versions on secondary or non-essential devices and ensure there are enough backups of important data before updating.

Among the incoming features of macOS Ventura are Stage Manager for application management and multitasking, Live Captions for video, changes to Finder and system settings, improvements to Spotlight, Continuity Camera, Passkeys, changes to Messages and Safari, and a series of photo enhancements, among other things.
