Apple CEO Tim Cook was spotted in Quincy at the ALBA restaurant just days after a driver crashed into the Apple store, killing one person and injuring 19 in Hingham.
Restaurant ALBA posted a photo of restaurant owner and Apple CEO Tim Cook Leo Keka on its Facebook page on Friday.
Keka tells Boston 25 that Cook was in town to visit the Apple Store in Hingham as well as South Shore Hospital where several victims of the fatal accident remain.
On November 21, an SUV crashed through the window of the Apple Store at Derby Street Shops in Hingham, killing one person and injuring several others, and leaving victims pinned against the wall, officials said.
The driver, Bradley Rein, 53, was arrested and posted $100,000 cash bond in connection with the chaotic crash.
Kevin Bradley, 65, was working on construction at the store when he was killed in the crash.
New barriers were placed outside the store on Wednesday. It was unclear when the Apple Store at Hingham Derby Street Shops would reopen. The storefront remains barricaded.
Apple provided a statement that said in part, “We are devastated by the shocking events that took place today in Apple Derby Street and the tragic loss of a professional who was on hand to support the store’s recent construction.” Apple spokesperson.
A judge also ordered Rein not to drive a motor vehicle. He is due back in court on December 22.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
