Here’s a quick overview of the Zoom plugin for Microsoft and why you should install it.
Zoom’s official support page states that users should use the new Zoom add-in for Outlook if they want to optimize their video conferencing experience on the platform.
If you are a macOS user, this plugin is your go-to option and you can use it for both desktop and web use. By doing so, you need to uninstall the outdated Zoom plug-in for Microsoft.
More importantly, the new Outlook plugin can help you host a Zoom meeting. You can also integrate your Outlook calendar to sync your time with the Zoom client.
At the time of writing, macOS 10.14.1 and later can run the Outlook plug-in. However, if your system is already outdated, you need to update your macOS in order to install the Zoom add-on.
You can download the plugin via this link.
How do I remove the Zoom plugin?
If you want to remove the previous plugin on your Zoom app, you can direct it to the File folder and then select Manager Add-Ins. Once you are done, your browser will open, and later the “Add-in for Outlook” window will appear.
Then all you have to do is tap on My Add-ins and then find the Zoom add-in for Outlook. Find the three-dot callout and click on it. Next, choose Delete, then close the window by pressing the X located in the upper right corner of the screen.
