Turns out Anurag Kashyap is as much of a fanboy as Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz as any of us!
The ‘Dev D’ director recently posted that it’s a “pleasure to pee” in the same toilet as Hollywood superstars on Instagram.
The director is staying at the Hôtel Particulier Montmartre in Paris. Restrooms at this upscale resort town display signs proudly claiming that famous people like Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt and former French President Jacques Chirac relieved themselves there.
The ‘No Smoking’ director, known for his boundless, R-rated humor, didn’t shy away from being candid as always. Taking to Instagram, he uploaded pictures of the toilets and wrote: “It was a pleasure to pee in the same toilets as @bradpittofflcial @camerondiaz and #JacquesChirac at @hotelparticuliermontmartre.”
Many fans found the post hilarious. One Instagram user wrote: “Hahaha. That’s what I call good #sh*tposting. Another commented: “This is ‘holy’ shit.”
“ Back to recommendation stories
However, not all of his supporters were impressed. The post has had its fair share of trolls. A user brutally grilled the director of “Gangs of Wasseypur”, ”
Great achievement India proud hoga(Big achievement, India will be proud) while another user said, “How did you get into the women’s toilet?” and another user went on to say,
“Photo toh dhang ki kheech lete chacha.” ( At least take a good photo uncle
) Some fans were disappointed to see the maverick filmmaker resort to such childish jokes. “I followed you for your talent. Now I no longer follow you for a weakly degraded mentality. Another internet user said that the quality of the director’s films had deteriorated in recent years. “All your recent movies are also thrown in here…we miss the daring old Anurag,” the comment read. Ouch!
On the work side, the director’s last film was the 2022 sci-fi thriller “Dobaaraa”. The film starred Taapsee Pannu, Pavail, Gulati, Nassr, Rahul Bhat and Saswata Chatterjee. The film was an adaptation of the Spanish film ‘Mirage’. The film garnered high praise from critics but did not make much of a splash at the box office.
