The striker faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford
Martial has had a wonderful pre-season and looked set to play a big role for the club, but fitness issues have meant he has already missed 30 games this season.
While the 27-year-old is back in contention now, he has a point to prove given it’s been 18 months since he last completed a full game.
With a contract expiring in 2024, time is running out for Martial to prove himself as a key man for Ten Hag, but according to the Man United boss he has full faith in the French star.
Ten Hag said, “I don’t think now is the right time to be.
“I believe in him, whenever he is available he really contributes to the performance of the team, the level of the team goes up when he is available.
“We are working with him to be fit and available.”
