EA Sports have made some significant changes to the upcoming FIFA game by making the King of Boxing Anthony Joshua a playable character.
Players will be able to select Joshua, the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion, for their five-a-side squad in FIFA 21’s Volta mode.
Additionally, the British boxer will wear a Volta collection designed by Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.
And if that wasn’t enough for you, the world-famous DJ Diplo is in the game too, as the developers aim to blend the “worlds of football, music, fashion and beyond”.
Volta, introduced in FIFA 20, allows players to create their own character and travel the world by participating in five-a-side tournaments.
Joshua and Diplo will be among the “pioneers”, against which users can play and recruit into their own squad.
Some legendary names from the football world, such as Kaka and Eric Cantona, will also feature in Volta.
One wonders how many players will make a Tyson Fury character just for fun?
Oddly enough, EA Sports’ release of UFC 4 features both British heavyweight champions and playable characters in the Octagon.
