Anthony Joshua gave an interesting answer to what he describes as Tyson Fury’s “psychological warfare”.
The “ Gypsy King ” is renowned for his mind games before big fights and used such tactics on Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.
Now he’s getting closer and closer to finalizing a fight with AJ and has already started speaking in the media.
One particular quote that raised eyebrows came when Fury said he ‘drinks 12 pints a day’ while preparing for the contest.
Joshua responded on Troy Deeney’s Deeney Talks podcast, “It’s just psychological warfare, I learned a lot from it.
“The man will talk about drinking pints and he’s not interested, but yet he wants to look chiseled, he trains the hardest he has ever trained, he is the leanest he has.” never been.
“He wants to have a good body, he wants to be well prepared.
“But AJ has a good body, chiseled and training, and he’s a bodybuilder. Tyson Fury would do the exact same thing if he could.
“It’s psychological warfare. What they call me is who they want to be.
“He wants to have a six pack, that’s why he’s training as hard as he’s training right now, why he looks so chiseled, why he’s training in America.
“It’s just psychological warfare for not wanting to believe in me.
“However, I understand what it is and everything he says I’m whatever he wants to be.
“The reason he says he drinks 12 pints is because he knows he could never do that to beat me, he knows what type of fighter I am.
“If I told you, ‘I drink 12 pints, I don’t care about them’ you know I run 12 miles longer than I’ve run before, you know I don’t drink 12 pints .
“You know that’s how serious this challenge is, you want to make it look so small, that’s how you know this challenge is going to be.”
“He knows. I don’t need to talk about Tyson Fury, I don’t need to put the man down.
“But you’re talking to me, I know I’m the man in this division and I will be for a long time to come.”
