Before becoming one of the most popular stars on the planet, being able to produce successful, billion dollar franchises just out of sheer will, talent and ethics, Dwayne Johnson was wrestler for WWE ‘The Rock ‘he turned to comedy entering the Hollywood scene. It’s forgettable now, but at a time when Johnson was only hired for action, physique-related roles.

At the start of his acting career, there were rumors that he would play an iconic animated character. And if it really happened then, then his acting career could have had a very different arc than today.

In the early 2000s, Dwayne Johnson came close to the role of the animated version of Johnny Bravo. Going back to the heyday of 2002, when new actor Johnson had just stepped onto the film scene, leaping out of the wrestling ring as The Rock and making his way into a high-income business. After its 2001 issue, The Mummy Returns, it began to make a name for itself on the big screen. Obviously, there was still a part of him playing the same wrestler character, relying on his physique to do a lot of the “lifting,” but he totally had the charisma for separate roles. Soon, Warner Bros. bought the rights to the film for Johnny Bravo and reportedly hired Dwayne Johnson for the role.

Johnny Bravo

Johnny Bravo had entered television in the 90s on the Cartoon Network, a bulky jerk, with a huge blond do, fit upper body muscles, dark glasses and a minute in the name of humility. He idolized himself as a ladies’ man, even though he didn’t have much experience with real evidence to back it up.

All his advances towards women have met with rejection or physical violence. All that to say that it doesn’t end nicely for the guy and that he often makes the joke himself. The show screened a total of 4 seasons. From what we know of Dwayne Johnson at the moment, it’s really hard to see that it worked as intended. Almost because Johnson is so popular in the movies that it would be somewhat unfair for fans to see him play the heel.

Could you even see him do that? Let us know in the comments!
