Annie Murphy may be promoting her new show, Kevin can fuck himself, but she can always come back into character as Schitt Creek‘s Alexis Rose at the drop of a hat. This is exactly what the adorable Canadian actress did during an appearance on Tonight’s show Wednesday night, and it made us yearn for the Rose Family on-screen shenanigans more than ever.
After playing a hilarious game of True Confessions, in which she admitted to licking the sweat off Chris Martin (yes, really), Annie and host Jimmy Fallon took a little walk down memory lane to reflect on Schitt Creek. To anyone’s surprise, Annie said fans of the award-winning sitcom regularly shouted, “Ew, David!” to her in public, despite the fact that Alexis only utters the phrase a few times throughout the series. This revelation caused her to briefly slip into character – vocal fry, T-rex-like hand gesture, and all – to say, “Ugh, David!” and “Why, David ?!” which made Jimmy and the whole crowd lose their Schitt.
