Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks to star in her next project, Every note played, starring James Bond villain Christoph Waltz.
The film is based on a novel by Lisa Genova about a famous concert pianist, played by Waltz, who learns of his life-changing illness. His ex-wife, played by Angelina Jolie, returns home to take care of him as he works on his latest installment and the issues in his relationships.
According to Variety, Michael Sucsy participates in the project as director while Monet Clayton adapts the script with co-writer David Mandell. The previous novel from Genoa, Always Alice, became a 2014 film that earned Julianne Moore her first Oscar for Best Actress. Will Jolie likely win her first plum with Every note played?
This will be Jolie’s next project after Marvel’s Eternal, where she will play the celestial being Thena. The superhero film has a star cast that includes Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Kumail Nanjiani and Salma Hayek.
Excited to be a part of the MCU
When asked why she agreed to star in a superhero movie, Jolie said she has followed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from the start. She thinks Marvel boss Kevin Feige is a genius, so the decision to join the MCU wasn’t a difficult one.
The actress also said she can’t wait to be a part of the Marvel family, after joking that she wasn’t getting any offers for Star wars. She also praised Eternals director Chloe Zhao for her strong vision. Mostly, Jolie wanted to make the superhero movie because of its cast.
“I love the diversity of the cast. I think it will bring something special and different, ”said Angelina Jolie MTV News.
Next movie: Come away
But before working on Eternal, Jolie finished filming Come away, a fantasy drama that brings a unique perspective on the stories of Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. It follows two siblings – Peter and Alice – who have hours of imaginary play in their English country home.
Peter then finds a family heirloom that he tries to sell to a sinister owner of a pawnshop in London. While in town, the siblings go on an adventure that leads Alice to take refuge in a rabbit hole, while Peter leaves for good for a magical kingdom where he becomes the leader of the Lost Boys.
The film will hit theaters on November 13. With Angeline Jolie in this fantasy, David Oyelowo, Michael Caine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and newcomers Jordan A. Nash and Keira Chansa.
