Just a few months ago, Android Auto added six preset images that can be used as a background. We were hoping that meant full support for custom wallpapers would be available soon, but instead Google removed most of the previous images in favor of 12 new, more car-oriented backgrounds that are suitable. much better at Android Auto.
These backgrounds, taken from today’s Android Auto 6.0 update by 9to5Google, are actually quite pleasing to the eye. There are a few with leather stitching for those who appreciate luxury, a few focused on performance (a drilled rotor, carbon fiber pattern, and a close-up of a grille), some related to sound waves and some scenery with light trails too. To me, these new funds seem much more suited to an embedded application. While the previous ones seemed to be the same kind of wallpapers that Google would load on a phone or tablet, the new ones were definitely selected for Android Auto.
If you haven’t yet received the Android Auto 6.0 update on your phone, don’t despair; we have the APK on APK Mirror. Personally, I would use the brake rotor close-up as a background … if I still had a car with Android Auto.
