Android 10 is officially deployed on the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G with OxygenOS 10.0.4 – Android Police

The Android 10 update for the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is now officially launched. Previously spotted hitting some devices in the UK a bit early, OnePlus today announced the full changelog for the new Android 10 version of the 5G powered phone, honoring its earlier promise to deliver the update first quarter of this year, although we haven’t yet spotted any sign that the update is coming for Sprint versions of the phone (for now).

It’s probably not fair to compare versions, but the numbering of this version seems to match it with the non-5G OnePlus 7 Pro. The full changelog for this version is just below:

Change log:

  • System
    • Upgrade to Android 10
    • New user interface design
    • Improved location permissions for privacy
    • New customization functionality in the settings allowing you to choose the icon shapes to display in the quick settings
  • Full screen gestures
    • Add swiping inwards from the left or right edge of the screen to go back
    • Added lower navigation bar to switch left or right for recent apps
  • Play area
    • New Game Space feature now joins all of your favorite games in one place for easier access and a better gaming experience
  • Background information
    • Smart information based on specific times, places and events for ambient display (Settings – Display – Ambient display – Contextual information)
  • Message
    • It is now possible to block spam by keywords for Message (Messages – Spam – Settings – Lock settings)

Headline changes, of course, include a bump to the latest stable version of Android, which has OnePlus’ skin being one of the best. This means the fully gestural navigation system, improved support for the system-wide dark theme and many other changes. You can check out the short and long versions of what to expect.

Other OnePlus-specific changes include a new “Contextual Information” screen, which has taken at least one other name in the past, and which shows details like current music and calendar events on the unfortunately do not-Ambient display always on.

The deployment is explicitly organized, so not everyone will get it at the same time. However, we have yet to see any reports that the version sold by Sprint is receiving the update. This may be revealing, but OnePlus previously included a caveat in its initial promise regarding the Android 10 update schedule, explicitly mentioning “Europe” when it spoke of the first quarter release date.
