Apple will announce its first-quarter 2022 earnings reports this Thursday. Several analysts suggest the company will report strong earnings despite supply constraints. Reuters According to several analysts, Apple was “buoyed by strong iPhone 13 sales globally, sales in China and continued growth in Mac shipments.” With that, the company is likely to report that it had a great quarter.
The publication also summarizes some predictions made by other analysts. For example, Nicole Peng of Canalys believes Apple will achieve its highest market share in China since the company entered the market in 2008.
Investment firm Wedbush Securities predicts record iPhone sales of more than 40 million units during the holiday season, from Black Friday to Christmas. Morgan Stanley estimates total iPhone shipments for the holiday quarter at 83 million, a 4% increase over the prior year.
Wall Street analysts expect Apple to post revenue of around $118.7 billion, up 6.48% year-over-year, and quarterly profit per share of $1.89, according to Eikon data on Tuesday.
Not only that, but analysts are also predicting that Apple will experience stronger growth compared to its competitors as the company has been able to better manage supply constraints.
“Given that Apple has many custom components for iPhones, Macs, Apple Watch and others and the scale (volume and price) at which it sources, Apple has been able to lock in supplier capabilities to produce these parts in a timely manner with less lead times. said Neil Shah of Counterpoint Research.
Even though Apple is expecting another record quarter, its shares continue to slide this week as the US Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates to curb inflation, as well as end stimulus measures in the event of a pandemic. This would mean that consumers would have less disposable income and it would be more expensive for companies to borrow to fund future product development.
The first quarter 2022 call will take place at 2:00 p.m. PDT / 5:00 p.m. EDT, with Apple releasing its full earnings report 30 minutes before that. The call will include a Q&A section with Apple CEO Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri.
As is the case every quarter, Apple will broadcast the earnings call live on its Investor Relations website. We’ll have our own coverage here at 9to5Mac also.
